Electrical Mechanics/Technicians:

Primary Duties:

  • Read blueprints or technical diagrams.
  • Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.


A high school diploma or equivalent is required.


Generator Technician:

Established Electrical Contractor in Westchester & Putnam NY counties and Connecticut. Seeks a Generator Technician responsible for troubleshooting various brands, types and sized generators, various other mechanical and electrical problems. Full-time work, which may include evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and good communication skills. Technician installs, tests and performs routine scheduled maintenance of generators and equipment. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown, correct the problem and responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers. Ability to repair basic electrical equipment and perform other duties as assigned

Primary Duties:

  • Determines malfunction of generator electrical system by visual inspection of equipment.
  • Install electrical equipment such as gauges, panel boards, synchronizing panel, lighting.
  • Familiar to test instruments and read circuit diagrams.
  • Knows to test, recondition, and replace/repair faulty related items such as voltage regulators, starters, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches.
  • Ability to carry out routine scheduled maintenance.
  • Electrician ensures that work is done in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Complete all paperwork such as time sheets, time & material sheets & material lists are compiled in good time for work assigned and in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure that issues are escalated to Management.
  • Approach situations with a responsible, tenacious and accountable attitude.
  • Ensure all identified problems and causes for concern are reported to Management immediately and documented.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Ensure having adequate hand tools to carry out duties.
  • When not travelling, will be required to assist with general workshop duties.
  • Carry out site visits as and when requested by Management.
  • Carry out on-call responsibilities on a rota basis.
  • Conduct self in a manner, which maintains and enhances working relationship with customer and where possible, capitalize on any networking opportunities to promote the Company and its services.
  • Complies with the highest level of safety at workshop and site to avoid any type of accidents.

Academic Education:

At least completed two years Vocational or Technical Course.



Work Experience:

Minimum of (5) years Generator related work.

Other Skills and Competencies:

Can speak, read and write English language. Range of communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Ability to work independently.
