D’Amico Electric is currently seeking a full-time electrical/generator technician who has initiative, organizational skills, creativity, and a team player in the Bedford Hills, NY area.

Job Summary

Seeks Electrical/Generator Technicians responsible for installation and maintenance of electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems in homes & businesses. Troubleshooting various brands, types, and sized generators, various other mechanical and electrical problems. Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown, correct the problem, and be responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers. Ability to repair basic electrical equipment and perform other duties as assigned. May include working evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties

Read blueprints or technical diagrams
Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
Install electrical equipment such as gauges, panel boards, synchronizing panel, lighting, etc.
Familiar with test instruments and reading circuit diagrams
Ensures that work is done in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
Complete all paperwork such as time sheets, time & material sheets & material lists time fare compiled for work assigned, in a timely and accurate manner
Approach situations with a responsible, tenacious and accountable attitude
Ensure all identified problems and causes for concern are reported to Management immediately and documented

Secondary Duties

Determine malfunction of generator electrical system by visual inspection of equipment
Knows to test, recondition, and replace/repair faulty related items such as voltage regulators, starters, electrical wiring, fuses, lamps, and switches
Ability to carry out routine scheduled generator maintenance
Required to assist with general workshop duties when not on the road
Carry out site visits as and when requested by Management
Carry out on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis

Qualifications and Skills

Electrical Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years experience
Must have a clean driving record
Good communication skills
2 year Generator maintenance experience is a PLUS!
